The Timers by Serena extension provides two time widgets - elapsed and remaining - which can be displayed on SBM application forms. These widgets "tick" when viewed, providing the current value every second.

  • This extension provides users with two customizable timer widgets - one for elapsed time and one for remaining time. The widget requires a start or end time, respectively, which can come from an SBM date/time field (e.g., {Submit Date}) or can be a date/time string in one of these formats:

    • 2016-04-01T16:01:00+00:00
    • Fri, 01 Apr 2016 16:01:00 +0000
    • 2016-04-01T16:01:00+00:00

Optional parameters allow for different headers and labels per widget providing additional flexibility. Multiple widgets of either type may co-exist on the same form.

    To use these timers:

    1. Import Timers by Serena extension into the desired application in SBM Composer.
    2. Add Timer-Elapsed or Timer-Remaining widget from the Form Palette to an application form.
    3. Provide a Start/End date parameter to the widget in the Property Editor, for example {Submit Date}.
    4. Optionally, adjust other parameters to suit your needs.
    5. Repeat as necessary.

Post deployment, users will be able to see the timers running when viewing the form within the SBM user workspace.

    Notes:

    • Requires SBM 10.1.5.2 or higher
    • Users will need privileges to see the SBM date/time field used in any timer such that they also see a working timer.
    • These timers provide a value respective of your computer time-zone and your SBM user profile time-zone. If these settings are inconsistent (for example, UTC+2 and UTC-3), the timers will display a nonsensical value.
